Our Mission & Beliefs

Seeking to love God so we can love each other and the world better

Our Mission

To lead people into a growing, personal, love relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

To be a people who know God and experience Him fully.

Our Cultural Statements

At the heart of our church are four core statements that embody New Hope's culture.
<div style="padding-left:20px; padding-right:20px">A Spiritual Hospital<br>for the Hurting</div>

A Spiritual Hospital
for the Hurting

“Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” –Luke 5:31-32.

We believe the church should be a hospital, where Jesus is our master physician. We desire to be a place where those who are physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually wounded came come and experience healing and grace that we can only find in Jesus.

<div style="padding-left:20px; padding-right:20px">A Spiritual Home<br>for the Community</div>

A Spiritual Home
for the Community

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens of God’s people and also members of His household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.” – Ephesians 2:19-20

It can be hard coming to a church, but no matter where you consider yourself in your walk with Jesus–whether this is day one or day ten thousand–you’re a citizen of the Holy One and members of God’s family through Jesus. You’re always welcome here at New Hope.

<div style="padding-left:20px; padding-right:20px">A Spiritual Hub<br>for the Called</div>

A Spiritual Hub
for the Called

“Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.” —John 20:21-22

The gathered are sent. This theme is woven throughout Scripture—God calls people to Himself, then sends them out on mission. At New Hope, we don’t believe the church is meant to be a warehouse for the saved. Instead, we’re called to be a community that intentionally equips and shepherds disciples to go and make more disciples...who make more disciples...and so on.

<div style="padding-left:20px; padding-right:20px">Embody a Spiritual<br>Heart of Humility</div>

Embody a Spiritual
Heart of Humility

“Blessed are the meek...” (Matthew 5:5); “He who is least among you all is the one who is great.” (Luke 9:48); “He who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11)

Contrary to the thinking of His time and even today, the Bible shows us that Jesus consistently shows up as meek and humble, introducing a set of values that are the polar opposite of what the world values. If this is the way it is in Christ’s Kingdom, this is the way we strive to act and live.

Our Essential Beliefs

Everything we are and everything we do at New Hope is affected by what we believe.

God is the Creator of all things and is the Sustainer and Lord of our lives.
Genesis 1:1, Romans 1:25, Psalm 54:4
Jesus Christ is God's only Son and Savior of the world.
John 3:16-17, John 14:6, Acts 4:8-12
The Holy Spirit is God himself, who indwells each Christ follower and encourages, guides, comforts, and transforms us and seals in the way of Christ.
John 14:26, John 16:7-11, Ephesians 1:13-14
We believe in the one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the Trinity.
Acts 16:6-10, Matthew 28:18-20
The Bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God and the authoritative rule for all matters of faith and practice for Christ followers and the Church.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12

New Hope does not require that members subscribe to a formal creed. In a very real sense, "we have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible." The basis of our unity is that scripture alone is the standard, that all is for the glory of God alone, that by Christ's work alone we are saved, that salvation is by grace alone, and that justification is by faith alone.
The church is the body and bride of Christ, was founded on the day of Pentecost, and consists of Christians everywhere.
Ephesians 5:25-27, Acts 2, Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:11, Romans 10:12-13

We believe that God created the church to have unity. Unity in the church is non-negotiable. In matters of faith, unity; in matters of opinion, liberty; in all things, love.
1 Corinthians 1:10, John 17:21, Ephesians 4:1-6
Salvation–the forgiveness of sins–comes only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is offered to all persons, all of whom are created in the image of God.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 11:6, John 14:6
God is the Creator of all people. He created males and females in His image, knows them from conception, and therefore, each man and woman is inherently precious.
Psalm 139:13-16, Jeremiah 1:5, Luke 1:41 & 44

Man, created by God, willfully sinned and, as a result, is lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ, whose death, burial, and resurrection opened the way for salvation and eternal life to all who call on His name.
Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:8, Romans 5:8
The Bible clearly outlines the pattern to follow Christ as Lord: to believe in Christ as God's Son and Savior of the world, to repent of personal sin, to confess Christ publicly, and to be immersed in baptism.
Acts 2:36-39, 8:36-38, 9:18, 10:47-48, 16:31-33
We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. The saved will be resurrected to eternal life with God; the unsaved will be resurrected to the judgement of eternal separation from God.
Hebrews 9:27, 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, Matthew 25:31-46

One day God, who created the heavens and the earth, will bring life on earth to a conclusion. While accepting various understandings of how God will bring this about, we trust that Christ will come again and will call His own to Himself.
Matthew 24, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
God created and designed marriage to be between one woman and one man committed for life. Any sexual relationship outside of marriage is sin.
Mark 10:6-9, Romans 1:26-27, Matthew 5:27-30, Ephesians 5:22-33
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
1 Peter 1:3
